Blog Entrymoving mountains... so to speak ;-) Nov 24, '07 2:20 AM
for everyone
It’s been a challenge to find the time to write, during the past couple of days. The reason is simple – the special event I have been running all week was very time consuming. However, the coats have been given away – to the tune of 1551 families, and over 6000 coats… we still have some coats to give away, but will be doing that for the next month on a smaller scale. It was a really wonderful week. A lot of people were helped, a lot of people helped and gave a tremendous amount of clothing and outerwear, which just made all of this possible. I am happy! I could not have asked for a better result! I just wanted to leave a little note, as I realised, I managed to write on day 3, and now day 5 has come and gone… the mountain is down to a small hill :-)

I assume you collected warm clothing to distribute to those in need? Tell me more about your project. I'm always interested in the wonderful things people do for others. The unselfishness soles like yourself always make me smile.

I just packed up a bag for The Federation of The Blind the other day. Here in the states we get called on a pretty regular basis by AmVets, The Kidney Foundation for donations of clothing and household items, but this was the first time I'd gotten a call from The Federation of The Blind.

I think we all have clothes we can't or no longer wear that someone else could benefit from. No reason to leave our drawers and closeths stuff with things someone else needs. If only I could get hubby to part with some stuff. He's a bit of a collector. He hates to part with stuff even when he's forgotten he has it. Makes me kinda crazy. I'll get something out he's not worn, or even remembered he had to give away and pretty soon I see he's taken it out of the pile. errrrrrrrr

Please stop by for a visit any time, looks like we have a few things in common.

Sandy

I work for a charity - Boys' and Girls' Club of London, and each year we collect donations from individuals, businesses and other groups- these donations are of coats, boots, winter clothing, hats and mittens, gently used, new or handmade... this year, we were able to serve alot more families in need with our coats for kids program ... it was a really heart warming week - and the donations are continuing to come in and we will continue to give out coats until we run out :-)
